"The training I received at the Aviation Institute of Maintenance in Orlando, FL. was definitely worth every sacrifice; It made me more than prepared to be able to successfully take my Airframe & Powerplant exams to become a certified Airframe & Powerplant aircraft mechanic. It also gave me the foundation to begin my career in the Aviation field. I am currently the Quality Assistant Director at Aerospace Dynamics Inc. (ADI), a repair station located in Orlando, FL. (I found this job via the Career Services department at Aviation Institute of Maintenance). At ADI, I inspect every component and ensure it was repaired according to specifications; then once I ensure it is airworthy, I then sign it off, authorizing that component to be placed back onto the aircraft. It is a very fulfilling job and I am learning so much as each day goes by....Thank you so much Aviation Institute of Maintenance....."

To my AMO Family,

I am just keeping you guys updated on how I am doing in the aviation world. If you didn't know, I won second place in The Bill Sanderson HAI scholarship. They sent me to Texas where I took a 3 week Bell Helicopter factory training course for Hueys. All of it was paid for by HAI and also got $1150 for expenses. It was a great experience that will definitely help me in my career. And I would like to say thank you everyone at AIM for the 19 months of help and guidance. Again, thank you all!

Sincerely,
Sean McAllister

 Michael Daugherty

To my AMO Family,

My name is Michael Daugherty, and I have recently graduated AIM, the Orlando campus. It took me a week shy of 2 years, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. Although I was a dedicated student, I have had my ups and downs, even thought about quitting, but I stuck with it. I started the school knowing only that planes flew, that was it. Now I am a certified aviation mechanic. I met a lot of interesting people, learned tons of immeasurable tricks of the trade. And now I am very grateful that I did.  I took my O&P’s shortly after graduation, and it changed my life forever! Days after receiving my temporary certificate I moved all my belongings up to Alabama, without evening having a job, in the pursuit of happiness. After moving up here, I got a job with STA Aerospace through the school’s Career Placement Office, and now I am living in a completely different atmosphere. Everyone says that for having no experience, I am in the perfect position. I am working sheetmetal, and gaining tons of experience. Anyone I have talked to about having an A&P and working sheet metal says that it is the best way to do it. Sheet metal is everywhere, from cruise ships, to aviation. Any company needs good sheet metal mechanics, and I will hopefully be the one they are looking in further instances. I learning to love aviation and it is the best feeling.

Sincerely,
